Thomas P. Keenan is an award-winning journalist, public speaker, professor at the University of Calgary, and author of the bestselling book Technocreep: The Surrender of Privacy and the Capitalization of Intimacy. An expert in cybersecurity, privacy, and technology policy, he has testified before several House of Commons committees and spoken on five continents.
After working in the IT industry in New York City and Calgary, Thomas joined the University of Calgary’s Department of Computer Science. As Dean of Continuing Education from 1993 to 2003, he developed innovative programs, including Canada’s first computer security course. He holds four degrees from Columbia University, has served on more than a dozen boards, and holds the ICD.D. designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
