PARIS, France - October 15, 2026 - The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) and Cyberr today announced a new partnership to strengthen cybersecurity talent connections between Canada and Europe and expand access to professional development, mentoring, practical experience, and international networks.

The partnership will connect graduates of ICTC’s cybersecurity programs with Cyberr’s global professional community, giving emerging professionals opportunities to deepen their skills, learn from experienced practitioners, and build relationships across international cybersecurity markets.

As digital infrastructure, AI adoption, and connected technologies grow in prevalence, cybersecurity talent is becoming increasingly important to the resilience and competitiveness of economies on both sides of the Atlantic. Employers need professionals who combine current technical capabilities with practical experience, professional networks, and exposure to evolving practices and threats.

Through the partnership, ICTC and Cyberr will bring together complementary strengths. ICTC contributes more than three decades of experience in digital-economy research, workforce development and skills programming in Canada, while Cyberr brings an international cybersecurity community connecting professionals, employers, mentors and training opportunities across markets. Together, the organizations will support greater knowledge exchange between Canadian and European cybersecurity communities while helping emerging professionals build the skills, relationships, and experience required to grow their careers and contribute to secure and resilient digital economies.

“Cybersecurity is increasingly a shared international challenge, and building the talent needed to respond to it requires stronger connections across borders,” said Anne Patterson, Chief Research and Communications Officer at ICTC. “As Canada and Europe deepen their economic and digital ties, there is a real opportunity to build more mutually reinforcing cybersecurity ecosystems—sharing expertise, developing talent, and strengthening connections between employers and professionals on both sides of the Atlantic. This partnership establishes an exchange that strengthens our collective capacity to develop skilled professionals, support employers and institutions, and build more secure and resilient digital economies.”

“What makes the biggest difference in someone’s early cybersecurity career is often the people around them, the person a few years ahead who answers the question they were afraid to ask, the mentor who helps them see where they could go next,” said Kätlin Koemets, Chief Partnership Officer at Cyberr. “This partnership connects ICTC’s graduates to exactly that, a professional network where they can learn from people further along, build relationships that outlast any single job, and feel like they belong in the field rather than trying to break into it. Giving Canada’s emerging talent that kind of grounding from the start is the sort of impact we built Cyberr to have.”

Signed in Paris, the partnership also reflects a broader effort by both organizations to strengthen international cybersecurity collaboration and talent development. Cyberr, headquartered in Luxembourg, brings together cybersecurity professionals and organizations from across markets, while ICTC is expanding its international engagement through relationships with governments, industry, research institutions, and digital economy organizations.

For ICTC, the partnership also complements its recently launched Canada-Europe Digital Economy Bridge, an initiative designed to create stronger connections between Canadian and European businesses, researchers, workers, institutions and innovation ecosystems. The initiative will support collaboration across areas including cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, workforce development, research, innovation and market access, while creating opportunities for knowledge and expertise to move in both directions between Canada and Europe.
