Competition continues through a virtual platform
OTTAWA - 22/04/2020 ICTC's CyberTitan III National Finals moves forward as the top ten teams are announced. On June 8th, 2020, ten teams from across Canada will clash in an online cybersecurity battle. Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, the CyberTitan III national finals have switched from an all day in-person competition to an all day virtual one. The ten finalists are:
These ten teams have dedicated the past six months to cybersecurity training, and have managed to beat out over 200 other Canadian teams to earn their spot at the CyberTitan III National Finals. This year’s national finals theme is "Hedge Fund 2020". Based around the real world of financial cybersecurity, teams will have to work diligently to protect Canadian citizen's money on online trading platforms. The competition's simulation creators, Octopi Managed Services, have produced a thrilling challenge for teams where they will be able to see the immediate implication of a cybersecurity breach. ICTC wants to ensure that all CyberTitan participants are able to compete while following regulations set by provincial and federal governments. With the movement to an online competition, students are still able to showcase the cybersecurity skills they have acquired and refined over the last six months. ICTC and the CyberTitan team would like to show our support to the CyberTitan participants and are confident they will proudly represent their schools while competing from home.
