August 25, 2020—ICTC’s research and policy mandate has been strengthened over the years to include a comprehensive ecosystem of heightened stakeholder engagements, thought leadership debates, foresight analysis, and national and international collaborations to bring the best and most innovative policy solutions to advance Canada’s digital economy. The accrued emphasis on white papers, policy briefs, panel discussions, in-depth research, international benchmarks, and Q&As with subject matter experts are but a sample of the enhanced value-add that ICTC is now collectively branding as “Digital Think Tank by ICTC.”

The newly named Digital Think Tank is an integral part of ICTC’s family of services, which includes a suite of digital capacity-building programs. The new brand emphasizes ICTC’s commitment to growing its capabilities, including professional data analytics, increased publication of content aimed at supporting the digital economy, foreign market research, and the soon-to-be-launched website refresh providing critical information to policymakers, employers, and job seekers.

The core focus of the Digital Think Tank will continue to be the identification and investigation of difficult but timely questions that are at the intersection of public policy, societal challenges, and digital trends. Through evidence-based foresight, decision-makers can leverage the Digital Think Tank’s expertise to advance pivotal business, economic, educational, and societal objectives, or to chart the social impacts of market and investment trends in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

“The world is rapidly changing, and the boundaries of our modern economy, labour market, and society are expanding. Now more than ever, timely and evidence-based research, coupled with forward-looking policy is crucial. ICTC’s Digital Think Tank is committed to leading the charge and will continue to illuminate the pathway for an ever-resilient and globally competitive digital economy,” said Alexandra Cutean, ICTC Senior Director, Research & Policy.

“I am delighted to see our thought-leadership in the digital space significantly heightened. This comes at a critical juncture in helping to tackle Canada’s most pressing issues while aspiring for greater prospects for our economy and society in this digital world,” said Namir Anani, ICTC President & CEO.

Later this week, ICTC’s Digital Think Tank will be kicking off its new chapter by releasing a much-anticipated revision to its flagship outlook study. Following a year of unprecedented shocks to the global economy, The Digital-Led New Normal: Revised Labour Market Outlook for 2022 examines what is in store for Canada’s digital economy and labour market. Keep an eye out for the study’s upcoming formal release.
